54th IFFI Goa

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI Goa) is an annual event that showcases the best of world cinema and provides a platform for filmmakers and film talent worldwide.

The festival was founded in 1952 and is one of the oldest film festivals in Asia.

The festival is held in Goa, India. It is organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with the Government of Goa and the Indian film industry.

54th International Film Festival of India – IFFI Goa 2023

The 54th edition of IFFI is scheduled from 20th to 28th November 2023 in Goa. The festival will feature a special screening of 45 films, and well-known cinema stars from India and around the world will participate in this festival.

The festival will also feature the Creative Minds of Tomorrow section, which will showcase the work of filmmakers and artists from 19 states in India.

The Indian Panorama 2023 has announced its official selection for the 54th IFFI. The festival will also feature a Documentary Co-Production Market and a Book to Box Office section.

Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Cinema

The award is given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the growth and development of World cinema.

The award consists of a cash prize of ₹ 10 lakh, a certificate, shawl, along with a Silver Peacock medal and a Scroll

The festival will honor Hollywood actor and producer Michael Douglas with the prestigious “Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award”.

Michael Kirk Douglas is an American actor and film producer.

He was born on September 25, 1944 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States.

He has received numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and the AFI Life Achievement Award.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in drama from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His early acting roles included film, stage, and television productions.

Douglas first achieved prominence for his performance in the ABC police procedural television series The Streets of San Francisco, for which he received three consecutive Emmy Award nominations.

Best Film

The award consists of a cash prize of ₹ 40 lakhs to be shared equally between the Director and Producer.

Director to be given a certificate, shawl, along with a Golden Peacock

Producer to be given a certificate and shawl.

Best Director

The Award carries a Silver Peacock, Certificate and cash price of Rs. 15 lakhs.

Best Actor Male

The Award carries a Silver Peacock, Certificate and cash price of Rs. 10 lakhs.

Best Actor Female

The Award carries a Silver Peacock, Certificate and cash price of Rs. 10 lakhs.

Special Jury Award

The award consists of a cash prize of ₹ 15 lakh, a certificate, along with a Silver Peacock to a film or an individual. If the award given to a film, will be given to Director of the film.0

Award for Best Debut Feature Film of a Director

The Award carries a Silver Peacock, Certificate and cash price of Rs. 10 lakhs, to be given to Director for his/her first feature to recognize and encourage new directorial talent in world cinema.

Indian Film Personality of the Year Award

This prestigious award consisting of a cash prize of Rs 10 lakhs, certificate, shawl and Silver Peacock Medal  is conferred upon an Indian film personality for his/her outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema.

Best Web Series (OTT) Award.

The Award carries certificate and cash price of Rs. 10 lakhs to be shares equally among the Directors, creators and Producers / Production Houses/ OTT platform.

Opening Ceremony of 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI Goa) .

The opening ceremony of the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was held in Goa on November 20, 2023. The event was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Karishma Tanna at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium Taligaon, Panjim. The ceremony was attended by several Bollywood celebrities, including Shahid Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit.

Shahid Kapoor made a grand entrance at the ceremony by riding a bike to his famous ‘Wanna wow wow’ BGM from his blockbuster movie ‘Kabir Singh’. Madhuri Dixit was honoured with the ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema’ award.
