Goa Science Centre is located on New Marine Highway, Panjim. The construction of this building was started in 1999 and took two and a half years to finish.
Goa Science Centre is a project of the National Council of Science Museums and the Department of Science and Technology.
About Goa Science Centre & Planetarium
It is a small but beautiful place, especially for school kids between 10 to 18; actually, this place is enjoyed by all age groups. The oceanography section is unique and well explained.
Goa Science Centre organizes exciting Science shows every day and a variety of special programs and activities in Science & Technology regularly which are suitable for all age groups. Science Demonstration Lectures, 3D Film Shows, , Science Film and Cyberlab Shows, Taramandal Shows, Sky Observations, etc. are held every day for the visitors.
The Goa Science Centre aims to “..inculcate a scientific temper particularly among the kids and young generation and to popularize science by bringing the excitement of Science and Technology for the public .”
Activities in Goa Science Centre
The Centre organizes specially designed programs & activities such as Science Quiz Contests, Seminars, Creative Science Workshops, Science Drama Competition, Astronomy Olympiad, etc. to develop develop creativity and inhancing scientific aptitude among the students.
Teachers’ Training Programmes & Computer Awareness Programmes for Teachers help teachers in updating their knowledge and improving the quality of Science education.

What to see at the Science Centre
1 Zenith Cyber Lab
State of the art Multimedia Computer Lab to provide Information Technology (IT) awareness among common people. The lab holds daily multimedia sessions for general visitors and regular Computer awareness and training programs for Students, Teachers, Homemakers, and Senior citizens, etc.
2 Tara Mandal
A Mini Planetarium in an inflatable dome. The night sky of any place can be simulated to know the star patterns. Interactive shows on astronomy are conducted daily.
3 Auditorium
A well-equipped 140-seater air-conditioned Auditorium for conducting seminars & programs, Science Film Shows.
The Centre has two thematic Galleries full of participatory exhibits one is Science of Oceans and another Fun Science.
The exhibits in the Centre are fully participatory and allow curious minds to play with them, operate, observe, change variables, question, and explore to learn and understand the scientific principles and concepts.
4 Science Park
The Science Park spread in 4 acres of land with lush green lawns, and usual beauties of a park have large exhibits and playthings which provide means to experience and explore science while playing with them.

Goa Science Centre Entry Fee
Rs 10/ person & Rs 5/Student (School Group Visit)
While a planetarium show costs ₹ 25, a 3D film is at ₹20 per person,
Science Park and science center charge an entry fee of ₹15 per person.
Visitors may also buy any combination thereof.
How to reach Goa Science Centre
There is only one main road from Panaji to Miramar, which is a straight stretch and just a 3 Km from the Panaji bus stand.
Tourists can catch a bus from Panaji bus stand or anywhere along the Panaji – Miramar road.
People coming by air can go directly to Panaji, by either bus or taxi, and then from there, it’s just a straight forward road to Miramar which can be reached again by a local bus or cab.
Those coming by rail should preferably get down at Karmali Station which is the nearest station, 13 Km from Goa Science Centre.

1 Miramar Beach
Miramar Beach is the most popular beach amongst the locals as well as tourists visiting Goa. Known to be the favorite evening spot for families residing around Panaji.
The tourists who come to Goa, enjoy the picturesque view of the beach, along the Mandovi River, and also enjoy a swim in the Arabian Sea. Tourists can also opt to go out into the sea by one of the cruises that regularly go to see the dolphins
2 Gaspar Dias Club
Another popular place for sports, events, and activities at Miramar, is the Gaspar Dias Club, also known as the Club Tennis de Gaspar Dias which offers many facilities to people.
3 Panjim Church – Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church
The Panjim church is fascinatingly located in the center of the Goan Capital Panjim, on a hill, in front of a well-maintained square.
The reason for the Panjim church is a major tourist attraction because of it’s pretty designed. That it’s pretty hard to miss a travelers eye.
4 Museum of Excise
Another place in Panjim worth seeing is the Museum of Excise. It shows the history behind the traders who tried to smuggle good in and out of Goa and India.
The museum, built in a Portuguese kind of style with tall doors, broad wooden staircases, and a huge hall, is now well over 400 years old.
